In September, the GPA Fall Regional Conference toured the state appearing in six Louisiana cities. All Junior High, High School, College students, parents and community leaders were invited to attend. Conducted by our GPA Club members, the Fall Regional Conferences feature exciting speakers, skits, and student testimonies. In addition to being our showcase for the speaking and performing talents of our GPA youth, the conferences provided an opportunity for students to meet others from their area who are also in support of sexual abstinence.

FRC 2006
FRC 2006 was attended by 5,354 students from 24 junior high schools and 114 high schools.

Summer Leadership Camp
The Summer Leadership Camp is the kick off event of the year for GPA Clubs. Usually held in central Louisiana, these camps concentrate on training methods for delivering the GPA’s authentic abstinence message in an effective and compelling way. Spring State Convention
Spring State Convention is an exciting three days packed with nationally known speakers, music, and competitions.
The the convention culminates with a huge rally on the steps of the State Capitol followed by lunch on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion. Three hundred students attended the first convention six years ago. The 2007 convention had over 800 attendees. 2007 Convention News

Winter Legislative Caucus
The Winter Legislative Caucus is held each year in January at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. This mock legislative session allows students to experience first hand how laws are made, how to debate and pass legislation, and how to maneuver through parliamentary procedures as they convene their meetings in the House Chamber of the Louisiana Legislature. Bills and resolutions relating to abstinence and public health issues are hotly debated, giving club members a lesson in the exercise of our representative form of government and good citizenship.
