Rate of sexually-transmitted diseases soars among young Californians

A study published last month in the Californian Journal of Health Promotion reports that in 2005 the rate of sexually transmitted infections for the 15 – 24 age group was 10 times higher than previously believed. In California, abstinence-only education is prohibited by state law and comprehensive sex ed is taught in 96% of schools.
